It doesn’t really seem that long ago when ‘.uk’ domain name registrations were a ‘new thing’. Now in 2012, a very special milestone is coming up – in the next thirty days or so the 10 millionth ‘.uk’ domain name is expected to be registered!

In their infinite wisdom Epson have decided not support this scanner beyond Windows XP. You might think this would be because the technology has moved on so much that these old dinosaurs are now redundant. However, as you might have already guessed, this isn’t the case.

Once I was faced with the message “Sorry, we do not provide Windows 7 drivers for this model” from Epson, I had to make a choice – either buy a new scanner or write my own driver! Well, I once wrote a printer driver for a Sony viewdata system using binary, but this wasn’t 1988 any more. So… what to do? Easy, hack the old drivers or course! Well, I say hack, what I actually mean is change two lines an a couple of text files in the old XP driver pack.

… and yes, it works a treat.

Epson would no doubt claim that this would, of course, not meet their rigorous quality control. Well, hey ho, it meets mine!

As of May 1st 2012 we will be able to offer our customers a more flexible package by giving the option of renewing a ‘.uk’ domain name* from our current 2 year period right up to ten years!

Sam Giles came to us fresh from finishing his studies at Yeovil College and started work as a web developer in July 2011.

As well as working for us he is also doing a 3-year Foundation Degree in Computing and Internet Technology at the University Centre Yeovil.

We were approached to do a redesign of the Huish Academy web site. The site was divided into three sections – the main school site / a sixth form specific site and a site for the shared leisure centre facilities. All three sections had CMS capabilities so that the staff could add/modify content on any of the main pages.

EGray.Counselling

The EGray.Counselling website provides therapy service and offers development in the fields of Coaching, Counselling, and Psychotherapy. The site itself is partially content managed by the client in regards of adding /replacing news items (which are visible on the home page of the website on the right hand side.)

Journeys Motor Homes

Journeys Motor Homes is a motor home hire/rental company and a sister site to the South West Motor Homes site. With this in mind, the look and feel of the new site is in keeping with the original SWMH design – the main changes are regarding Journeys’ corporate ID and colour scheme.

Florence Morris is a professional photographer specialising in Weddings, Portraits and Public Relations Images.
